HISTORY OF THE FRENCH CUTTER PEN DUICK

Take to the sea with the Pen Duick cutter wooden model kit. This is a wooden model of the legendary racing cutter piloted by Eric Tabarly. Pen Quick was saved from misery by Eric and his father when the former was only 7 years old, the Pen Duick was the first of a series of boats with which Tabarly won many victories during various races.

Born in Nantes in 1931, Tabarly developed a passion for the sea and sailing from his early childhood years. He won great victories and shattered records during a time when anglo-saxons dominated ocean races. Far from relaxing in the glory, he continued to build ever more efficient ships and winning more races. Tabarly met his end by disappearing on the water of the English Channel when steering his old Pen Duick to participate in a regatta of classic sailing in Scotland.

CONTENTS OF THE ARTESANIA LATINA PEN DUICK WOODEN MODELING KIT

Hoist the sails of your own 1:28 scale model of the Pen Duick French cutter. The system of construction uses false keel and frames which will help you to build your model in the same way the construction of the real ship happened. Once it is built, this faithful miniature replica measures 21.37” (543mm) long, 3.66” (93mm) wide and 28.58” (726mm) tall.

The model includes high precision laser-cut board parts, hardwood, brass, die-cast and fabric. For the assembly you will be able to follow our complete full colour guide step-by-step in four languages, accompanied by the drawings of the completed model, both of them on DVD format for computer (Windows and Mac). This kit does not contain physical papers, all files are on the included disc or can be downloaded from Artesania Latina’s website.
