Billing Boats Mary Ann

Mary Ann was the ship that started it all. In 1958 Billing Boats started to manufacture ship kits and this was their very first. Since that time the kit has undergone changes 4 times and changed names 3 times.

The Mary Ann is a typical 45-ton cutter that is commonly seen in the harbor at Esbjerg, Denmark. It is not uncommon for more than 600 cutters of this type to be seen at a time.

The Billing Boats Mary Ann model kit is based on the original ship drawings. Built in 1957 in Esbjerg she had a tonnage of 49,97 gross register ton. Her overall length was 18,35m with a beam 5,35m The length of the mast was 9,50m and her total sail area was 7,75sq.m. She had a two cylinder diesel motor with a speed of 12 knots and had a small crew of 3-4 men. The Mary Ann fished the North Sea mostly for herring and cod.

The kit contains laser cut wood parts, fine woods for planking cotton rigging line, cast metal and plastic fittings. The instructions are in multiple languages and all measurements are metric.
