Description

Caldercraft Amaranth

The Amaranth is a motor fifie, a type of fishing vessel that originated in Scotland in the late 19th century. The fifie was a popular boat design used for herring fishing and other types of fishing in Scottish waters.

The Amaranth is a fine example of a traditional Scottish fishing boat and is known for its elegant lines and seaworthiness. The vessel is a reminder of Scotland’s rich maritime history and the importance of fishing in the coastal communities.

Like the Cumbrae Clyde Puffer, the Amaranth may be used for leisure trips, educational purposes, and special events that showcase Scotland’s fishing heritage. More information about the Amaranth motor fifie can be found through maritime museums, heritage organizations, or by visiting the vessel in person at its home port.

The Caldercraft Amaranth kit uses a one piece ABS vacuformed hull. The kit also includes CNC cut plywood parts making the kit an ideal introduction to the world of RC marine modeling. Also included are cast white metal fittings and the kit is also supplied with a motor mount, propshaft and propeller, vacuformed lifeboat and a pre-stitched sail. The model is designed to take Radio Control or can be built for display.
