Description
Caldercraft Chatham
The HM Yacht Chatham has a long and storied history. It was originally built in 1988 as a customs service cutter for the UK government. However, it was later converted into a royal yacht and renamed the Chatham in honor of the historic dockyard in Kent.
The Chatham was used by the British royal family for various official functions and royal engagements, including state visits and royal tours. It was also used as a training vessel for the Royal Navy and was often used to entertain foreign dignitaries and heads of state.
However, in 1997, the decision was made to decommission the Chatham and it was eventually sold and converted into a luxury yacht for private use. Today, it is still in use as a private yacht and is often seen cruising the waters around the UK and Europe.
