Description

Caldercraft SS Talacre

The SS Talacre was a British cargo steamer that was built in 1923 by Smith’s Dock Company in Middlesbrough, England. The ship had a tonnage of 5,056 gross register tons and was originally operated by the Conway Steamship Company.

During World War II, the SS Talacre was requisitioned by the British Ministry of War Transport and served as a merchant navy vessel. In 1942, while traveling from Cardiff to Gibraltar, the Talacre was torpedoed and sunk by a German U-boat in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Caldercraft SS Talacre kit features a hull made of GRP that is fully detailed on the exterior with plating, double riveting and strakes. The kit is complete with CNC cut plywood, printed overlays, funnel material, hatch cover, moulded ships boats, mast and boom material, cargo material, rigging line, transfers, detailed diagrams and instruction book, crew members and all cast white metal fittings to complete.

This kit is inntended for being put in the water but also makes for a beautiful display piece.
