Description
Historic Scale Wooden Model Ship Louise Kit by Constructo Ship Model
VICTORIAN STEAM LAUNCH
At the end of the 19th century, pretty little steamboats like the Louise were a common sight on the River Thames. Usually between 20 to 40 feet in length, powered by a simple but efficient boiler system and cooled by water from the river itself. Many of them, after 100 years of service are still in operation today.
You’ll use traditional plank-on-bulkhead construction to build your model. Most wooden parts are pre-cut, fittings are cast in white metal and brass, and all parts for the steam engine and boiler are supplied.
