The Soleil Royale (Royal Sun) was a French 104-gun ship of the line, flagship of Admiral Tourville. It was a symbol of Royalty. The splendid Soleil Royale (Royal Sun) was launched at the port of Brest in 1669 during the reign of Louis XIV. Her awesome speed, maneuverability, and armament of 104 guns proved her matchless power in the war against the Hapsburgs.
Mantua’s huge kit faithfully recreates the original. This is a double plank-on-bulkhead kit, all parts are laser cut for a accurate fit and ease of assembly. The detailing in this kit is incredible. There are 320 bronze decorations. Other fitting are made of walnut and brass. Kit is complete with silk-screened flags, cotton rigging, eight large plan sheets and instructions.
