Description
The Amerigo Vespucci was the training ship of the Italian Navy. It was launched in 1931 in the shipyard of Castellammare di Stabia. designed by Lieutenant-Colonel Francis Rotunda she was inspired from the gracefull lines and proportions of the three-masted ships of the heroic era of sail. With a length of 83 m., a mast of 55m. and a sail area of 3100 square meters she was the true pride of the Italian fleet.
