Return Policy

The following return policy applies only to orders placed on WoodenModelShipKit or woodenmodelshipkit.com.

Returning an Item

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return the item(s) within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the products returned. A 15% restocking fee will be applied to any items returned not in good, resellable condition. Shipping is non-refundable under any circumstances once the item has left our facility, this includes return postage to us.

By “good resellable condition” we mean that the item(s) returned to us in the condition that it was received. For model kits this means sealed plastic parts areas or parts bags are unopened and in the original box, with all parts, accessories and paperwork included. For fittings, this means that all of the parts included in the packaging are still there.

Open boxes containing all parts, but with plastic bags or plastic sections opened, but in otherwise good condition are subject to the 15% restocking fee. We are sorry, but we cannot accept the return of kits in which construction has begun, kits with parts which are removed from the spline, partial kits, or kits damaged by the customer. Any kits that are marked as “non-returnable once opened” may not be returned if opened.

If there was damage done to your order while in transit, PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY VIA EMAIL, our email address is [email protected] In your email, please provide us with your order number as well as photos of the shipping container (envelope, box, or tube) as well as the damage done to the contents of your order.

Kits Missing Parts

Our kits are often very elaborate and can contain hundreds to thousands of parts. It is rare, but occasionally a kit will have one or more parts missing. For this reason, we advise customers to check kits upon delivery for damage and/or missing parts before starting the model.

If the kit has parts missing please contact us via email ([email protected]) with your order number and the parts and quantities that are missing from your kit and we can obtain them for you. Please note that the vast majority of our kits come from Europe so it can take some time for the parts to come in.

After 30 days and/or if the customer has opened and begun construction on the kit, we will charge you for any missing or damaged pieces. We will make every effort to work with the manufacturer to replace the parts with exact manufacturers parts or as near to exact as we are able to obtain. Please notify us within the first 30 days of your purchase if there are missing parts or we may be unable to obtain replacement parts for you from our manufacturers. Please also note that Artesania Latina has gone out of business and we can no longer obtain parts for those kits.

Sorry, no returns, credits, or exhanges after 30 days.

To make a return, please follow the instructions below:

Please send an email to [email protected] In the email, please provide us with your order number, the issue(s) that you are having with it and your prefered outcome. If you decide to return the item(s) purchased, unless they were damaged, you are responsible for the return postage. ou may return it by any means you prefer, but we do suggest shipping in a manner that provides tracking so both you and Wooden Model Ship Kit can see where the package if and if it gets lost. We are not responsible for lost or damaged packages. You will be refunded in the same form of payment used for the original purchase, within 30 days of our receiving the item.

Pack the item securely in a box or bubble envelope for fittings. You may use either the original package that the item arrived in or another box. Do not use the model’s box for return shipping as it will damage the model and we will not issue a refund. If you use the original packaging, please make sure that any barcodes and the original label are either covered or removed before returning the order as it can confuse the shipping courier’s systems.

Enclose original packing slip or a print out of the emails with the item.If you are using the packing slip, please write the reason for return, and the phone number and email where you can best be reached.

What if I receive a damaged or incorrect item?

If an item arrives damaged, please contact us immediately. If the item is either damaged, defective, or arrives incorrectly, please send an email to [email protected] or call our toll free number at 1-855-449-1467 within 7 business days of delivery, so that we can correct the problem. If we have incorrectly shipped an item, we will be happy to reimburse you for the reasonable cost of return shipping.

Gift returns will be refunded to the original purchaser.

Changing or Canceling an Order

If you wish to cancel or change an order once it has been submitted, you must contact Customer Service at 1-855-449-1467 or [email protected] within 24 hours of submission. We will make every effort to cancel the order when possible. We are not able to change or cancel orders that have already been shipped.

We cannot add items into an order, all credit card and PayPal information is secured. Once an order is submitted, it is final and you will need to place another order for any additional items. In this situation, please email us to let us know you’d like to combine shipping and we will refund you for any shipping overages. In the email, please let us know your order numbers that you wish to combine.

All sales are final after the 30-day return period has expired.

Terms & Conditions for Special Order Items

Special orders must be placed via email and we will contact you via phone to obtain payment information. Special orders are orders which are prepaid, not returnable, and may not be combined with any other offer. Some items may be covered only by the manufacturer’s warranty. In case of product defect, we will attempt to contact the manufacturer on your behalf for a refund or replacement of parts.
